The Numbers: Child trafficking, Airbus, border disputes and internet monitors

Some China-related numbers you may have missed:

US$1,000-5,850: The price of a Chinese child sold by child traffickers. State media reported the rescue of 23 children following a nationwide crackdown by Chinese police on child trafficking in poorer provinces.

20
: The number of new Airbus A320 airplanes bought by China Eastern Airlines. The carrier’s merger with Shanghai Airlines is expected to close soon.

174: Kilometers of mostly uninhabited land that Russia formally returned to China during state meetings last week. The land was seized by the USSR in a 1929 border skirmish.

10,000: The number of volunteers that the city of Beijing’s Internet Administration Office aims to recruit by the end of summer. The volunteers will monitor online content in order to continue “purifying social civilization.”
