Shanghai’s new PuLi Hotel and Spa will open this summer, becoming what the owners called ‘China’s first urban resort’.
The hotel will include the ‘Long Bar’ named after the famous Long Bar in the Shanghai Club in a bygone era.
What it lacks in physical length it will make up in what is claimed to be Shanghai’s longest selection of vintage and non-vintage wines and champagnes available by the glass.
The hotel also will have a heated pool overlooking JingAn Park, a health club, and a library.
An opening special offer includes one additional night with every night paid, complimentary breakfast, mini bar and wireless internet access as well as a tasting dinner — you get a little bit of several of the main courses to try — by chef Dane Clouston in Jing’An Restaurant and a spa treatment at the Anantara Spa.
Opening specials will be available until the end of September and rates start at around $500
Luxist said that the most lavish room will be the Jing’An Suite which has two master bedrooms, each with its own walk-in closet, a separate living room, large dining table and well-stocked mini-bar.
Price for a night in this little jewel in the crown costs close to $3,000.
