Thomson ups Konka stake

French electronics giant Thomson acquired 29m legal-person shares, or 4.8%, of Shenzhen-based TV and mobile handset maker Konka Group's A-shares, for RMB156.6m (US$18.7m), a stock exchange filing revealed. The deal comes on the heels of the French company acquiring 3.16% of Konka's B-shares earlier this week, giving Thomson an overall 7.98% stake in the company, opening the way for co-ventures on set-top boxes, mobiles and video players.
