Tianjin transportation will get more than US$5.3 billion in 20 key projects in 2009.
The money will be pumped into the construction of local harbors, airports, railways, highways, and postal telecommunications infrastructure.
The major projects will be the Beigangchi Container Terminal, the 300,000-tonne Crude Oil Terminal, the Shenhua Coal Port Phase II, and the Port of Dongjiang. Plus an international air logistics centre and airline hub.
CargoNews Asia reported that the Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway, the Tianjin West Station, and the Tianjin-Qinhuangdao are scheduled to start preparatory work in the first half of 2009 in succession.
