Growing concerns about quality and the prospect of tighter federal regulations have prompted leading US e-cigarette manufacturers including Mistic and White Cloud to shift their production from China to the US, Reuters reported. As the US Food and Drug Administration demands more oversight over the manufacturing process, the move will make compliance easier as well as allaying consumer concerns about the quality of Chinese products. Most companies, however, remain pleased with the quality of Chinese output and plan to keep production facilities there. US sales of e-cigarettes are expected to outpace that of conventional cigarettes by 2020.
