[photopress:Harvard.jpg, full, alignright]Three major institutions have got together to produce a very high level business training course for senior management. The three partners involved are:
First the School of Economics and Management at Tsinghua University (Tsinghua-SEM) in Beijing.
Then China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai.
Third Harvard Business School in the US.
They have joined together to design a Senior Executive Program for China which specifically addresses the business and management demands in China today.
This is quite a trio to get together for they are the cream of business management training and have been around in this area longer than you think.
For example, it was in 1926 that Tsinghua University formed its department of economics which became, 1979, the Department of Economics and Management Engineering and in 1984, Tsinghua-SEM was established as one of the first business schools in China. It now has 120 faculty members with over 4,000 students.
China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) was established in 1994 as a joint venture between the European Union and the Municipal Government of Shanghai. Since then it has become both a training ground and, in a sense, a business consultancy center. CEIBS provides a full-time MBA program, part-time executive MBA program, as well as several executive education programs.
Harvard Business School (HBS) is world famous and, indeed, can lay claim to being THE business school. It is just on a hundred years old. The School introduced the case method to management education which is pretty much the way all univeristies now work in this area and, importantly, created the world’s first MBA program.
The Senior Executive Program for China which runs in three modules spread over five months. There is one on at the moment. It starts with two weeks at Tsinghua SEM; then two weeks at CEIBS and finally, in December, two weeks at Harvard. This is an ongoing program and the 2007 course is now being finalized.
