Tourism income up in 2009

Tourism income in China is up 9% in the 12 months since 2008.

According to the China National Tourism Administration, China recorded approximately $185 billion in tourism income in 2009, reflecting a growth of 9% from 2008. 
Domestic tourism income was estimated at approximately $146 billion, growing 15% from the previous year. 
4Hoteliers reported foreign exchange earnings were forecast to be approximately $39 billion as both the inbound and outbound tourism markets are expected to continue their uptrends in the next few years.
