Toyota Motors’ sales in China may overtake its sales in Europe this year, Bloomberg reported. Toyota announced Wednesday it expects sales in Europe to fall 10% to around 800,000 units this year. In contrast, Toyota plans to increase deliveries to China by 13% this year to more than 800,000 vehicles. Toyota’s China sales would still lag behind shipments to the US and Japan, but China’s car market as a whole is set to outpace the US market for the second year in a row. The Japanese car maker plans to introduce two new compact minivans in China next year, the Verso and Wish, both to be built in cooperation with local partners. It will also introduce its luxury minivan, the Alphard, to Chinese car buyers.
