Six Chinese citizens have been charged with stealing mobile phone technology from two firms in the US, Bloomberg reported, citing a statement from the US Justice Department. The group, which includes two professors from China’s Tianjin University, were indicted on charges of arranging the theft of technology that filters radio signals in mobile devices and sharing it with the Chinese government. The indictment alleges that the two professors began planning to steal the technology as early as 2007, and that after resigning from their companies in 2009 the duo set up joint state ventures to produce the tech in China after accepting professorships at Tianjin University.
