The Civil Aviation of China (CAAC) gave initial approval to two private airlines. The airlines, Chunqiu Airlines and Ao�kai Airlines, will be based in Shanghai and Tianjin. Chunqiu Airlines is a venture between Shanghai Chunqiu International Travel Services and Shanghai Chunqiu Chartered Flight Travel Services. It will use Shanghai Hongqiao airport as a hub for regional flights and charter services. Ao�kai Airlines is a venture between Xinjiang Zhongjing Qili Investment, Ao'kai Investment Development and Beijing Qili Logistics. It will run domestic cargo transport and charter flights from Tianjin. The CAAC approved the mainland's first private airline, E&Net Airlines, in February. China plans to open the domestic airline business in the near term, allowing domestic and foreign investors to enter the industry on a broader scale.
