United Airlines has applied to the US Department of Transportation to offer daily service beginning in March between San Francisco and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. Under a recently signed US-China air agreement, 21 weekly routes are slated to open by mid 2005. UA hopes to run the Boeing 777 service out of its Tokyo hub.
