China's urban fixed-asset investment grew 27.2% in October from a year earlier, slower than the expected 29.3% rise and down from September's 29.4% gain, The Wall Street Journal reported. The pace of investment growth remains below the levels of nearly 50% in late 2003 and into 2004, but analysts said Beijing will likely remain on guard against a rebound that could overheat the economy.
