Shanghai officials are worried that the US has not signed a formal agreement to participate in the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, but a US project manager says the US fully intends to participate, South China Morning Post reported. Frank Lavin, steering committee chairman for the USA Pavilion, said the US is “100% in,” and plans to break ground on its exhibit this summer. Most other nations have already signed on, but the US is required by law to raise all the money for its US$60 million exhibit area from private donors, and is still seeking contributions.
