US Commerce Secretary to visit China

In his first trip to China since becoming US Commerce Secretary in February, Carlos Gutierrez is due to visit Beijing Thursday to ease US-Sino tensions arising from the US rising trade deficit with China, the row over surging Chinese textile imports and China's fixed currency regime, the Wall Street Journal reported. Gutierrez told the Journal he will also encourage China to step up the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
