America’s chief negotiator on North Korea’s nuclear weapons program arrived in Beijing Thursday, but said he had no plans to meet with DPRK leader Kim Jong-Il, who is widely believed to be visiting China. Assistant US Secretary of State Christopher Hill met with Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei and asserted that the US was ready whenever the Chinese are ready to convene six-party talks. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan earlier urged the two Koreas, Japan, Russia and the US to re-start the talks. Meanwhile, it was reported that the North Korean leader may be headed for Guangzhou.
