US ready to resume 6-party talks

America’s chief negotiator on North Korea’s nuclear weapons program arrived in Beijing Thursday, but said he had no plans to meet with DPRK leader Kim Jong-Il, who is widely believed to be visiting China. Assistant US Secretary of State Christopher Hill met with Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei and asserted that the US was ready whenever the Chinese are ready to convene six-party talks. Meanwhile, it was reported that the North Korean leader may be headed for Guangzhou.
