The United States sanctioned two China-based shipping companies over accusations that they helped North Korea evade US and international sanctions over its nuclear weapons program, said the South China Morning Post.
The Treasury Department identified the sanctioned firms as Dalian Haibo International Freight Co Ltd. and Liaoning Danxing International Forwarding Co Ltd.
The sanction will prohibit US dealings with the designated companies and freeze any assets that they have in the US.
The announcement follows the US-North Korea summit that was held Hanoi at the end of February, which ended with no finalization of an agreement.
