US seizes Chinese counterfeit Cisco products

US authorities said they had seized more than US$76 million worth of counterfeit Cisco Systems computer equipment from China over the past three years, AFP reported. The US Justice Department said that Operation Cisco Raider has resulted in more than 400 seizures of counterfeit network equipment. It has also led to the conviction of 10 people over a two-year period. The operation was launched by the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and was aimed at halting the flow of counterfeit network routers, switches, network cards and modules. Chinese authorities also cooperated with the operation.
