No solution to the US-Sino trade row appeared in sight after US Secretary Carlos Gutierrez met with Vice-Premier Wu Yi and Minister of Commerce Bo Xilai in Beijing over the weekend, as Gutierrez told reporters he doesn't "believe there's a full appreciation in China for…political pressure that we face with respect to our relationship," the Wall Street Journal reported. The US has said recently that it hasn't sunk in on China that Congress is increasingly fed up with the rising trade deficit, which many have blamed on the yuan's peg to the dollar which critics say gives Chinese goods an unfair advantage in global markets. Meanwhile Bo said that China's textile industry which employs more than 19m workers is facing great pressure in the face of US and EU actions to curb surging Chinese textile exports, adding that China opposes any attempt by the US to link the textile dispute with the yuan revaluation issues.
