The US Olympic Committee plans to bring its own food to China for the Beijing Summer Olympics, the AP reported. The US plan was spurred by fears that high levels of drugs and pesticides used in food production in China could result in positive drug tests for US Olympic athletes. Chinese officials have denied these claims. Members of the US Olympic delegation will eat their meals at their training camp rather than at the Athlete’s Village. The head of the food division of BOCOG, the Beijing Olympic organizing committee, said she was disappointed by the decision.
