The US announced it will support China's entry into the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), which controls exports of nuclear material and equipment that can be used in the production of nuclear weapons. The US is backing China's entry into the group despite concerns surrounding Pakistan, which has received support for its nuclear program from Beijing. Pakistan's top nuclear scientist recently admitted to selling nuclear weapon technology to North Korea, Libya and Iran. NSG members include France, the UK, Russia, Japan, Brazil, Australia and others.
