Video site to team up with MySpace China

Chinese video-sharing website Youku.com has agreed to a partnership deal with News Corp-invested social networking site MySpace China, the South China Morning Post reported. The cooperation will focus on attracting more online traffic to both sites, said Youku chief Victor Koo. Youku, which was founded in 2006, has completed three rounds of venture capital financing worth US$40 million and receives over 100 million daily video views. China’s online population recently reached 210 million, passing that of the US as the world’s largest. Meanwhile, access to US-based video-sharing site YouTube was blocked in China over the weekend after users posted videos of protests in Tibet.
