In the latest series of reported riots and unrest across the Mainland, hundreds of villagers in the eastern province of Zhejiang have taken over a battery factory they accuse of producing pollution that is poisoning their children, locking 1,000 workers inside, the AFP reported. Residents and company officials said the protest against Zhejiang Tianneng Battery started Sunday, and police stood by as 600 people seized the plant in Jianxia Village. The company, located about 150km south of Shanghai, is believed to be the Mainland's biggest maker of batteries for electric bicycles.
