Volvo has
unveiled plans to add two new models to the range it markets in China as part of a drive to
increase exports to the country, China Business Week/v said. The models are the limited-
edition sports saloon 560R and the newly-upgraded SXO sedan. Earlier this year, Volvo
added its XC9O sports utility vehicle to the XC7O and C70 vehicles it already sells in
China.
The company said it is studying opportunities to manufacture in China, but
had no immediate plans to do so. Its marketing strat-egy is based on developing sales
networks and after sales service and it hopes to open new sales and service centres in
Shenyang and Shanghai later this year, to add to the one already in operation in
Beijing.
