French media watchdog, Reporters Without Borders said Yahoo provided information to Chinese authorities that led to the conviction and imprisonment of a journalist, the AP reported. Citing court papers, Reporters Without Borders said Yahoo Holdings (Hong Kong) Ltd helped Chinese authorities trace a personal Yahoo e-mail written by Shi Tao, who was sentenced in April to 10 years in prison for illegally providing state secrets to foreigners.The development marks the latest criticism directed at high-tech companies which critics say are getting too cozy with the censor-prone Chinese government. Yahoo has declined comment.
