Tencent Holdings is allowing developers to integrate their services into WeChat’s new AI ecosystem, enabling users to book rides, order food and plan trips using AI agents, reports Caixin.
Major local service and travel platforms, including Meituan, Trip.com, Tongcheng Travel and Didi announced their participation in initial testing shortly after WeChat opened the platform on Monday. Although the feature is not yet available to the public, the integration will eventually allow users to execute transactions through natural conversational commands.
Once the feature rolls out, users will be able to hail Didi cars or order KFC meals using voice prompts. For travel, users can ask the AI to plan an itinerary, and the agent will call upon Tongcheng or Trip.com to compare prices and automatically book flights and hotels.
