Following the lifting of
the World Health Oreanisation travel advisory for China in late June, the World Economic
Forum announced that its annual summit, due to held in Beijing in April. would now be held
on November 6-7 this year. The summit, jointly organised by the United Nations
Conference on Trade and Development and the World Trade Organisa-tion, will have the
theme China Under New Leadership.. The New Dynamics of Trade and
Development.
The summit. along with the Boao Forum for Asia. a World Intellectual
Property Organisation conference and a host of other smaller events. were postponed
because of the Sars outbreak.
