Expressing rising Chinese concern over the sliding dollar, Premier Wen Jiabao on a state visit to Laos questioned why no steps had been taken to stop the decline. Speaking in Vientiane, Wen said the question had to be asked. "The U.S. dollar is depreciating, with no attempts to manage it," the premier was quoted by Reuters as saying in a media scrum in the Lao capital. "What is the reason for this? Shouldn't the relevant parties take measures?"
