Premier Wen Jiabao met with a US delegation including Commerce Secretary Donald Evans and members of the President's Export Council in Beijing to discuss ways to increase exports to China. Noting Evans had got off to a good start, the South China Morning Post reported that China announced it had agreed to buy power generators from General Electric, refrigerants from Honeywell and lighting equipment from two other US firms. His visit follows a recent China-US Joint Committee of Trade meeting in Washington where Evans and Chinese Vice-Premier Wu Yi discussed compliance issues.
