Wool imports up as textile quota nears end

Australian wool exports to China increased 71% year-on-year in August, according to a report from the Woolmark Company. For the year to August, exports were up 40%, the report said, noting the increase was due to textile mills in China replenishing very low stocks in preparation for the removal of US and EU textile and trading quotas due at the beginning of 2005.
