Work completed on Guangzhou airport

The new Baiyun International Airport in Guangzhou should be completed this month at a cost of Yn19.6bn. Test flights will be conducted later in the year, while regular services will begin in June.

Situated in the district of Huadu, the new airport covers an area of 1,456 hectares. This is about four times the size of the existing Baiyun airport, which is located in Guangzhou's suburbs and has long suffered from capacity constraints.
