Vice Premier Wu Yi will head a new taskforce to monitor unsafe food and homemade products in conjunction with a quality campaign to be launched later this month, the South Morning China Post reported. The government should "effectively guide, actively use and comprehensively strengthen opinion and information work," said Zhou Baihua, director of the General Administration for Industry and Commerce. The campaign represents efforts from Beijing to renew public opinion and international confidence in Chinese exports and food products.
