The Hannan district of Wuhan and Yuanda Ruihua Electric Automobile have signed an agreement to invest RMB3 billion to build an electric automobile industrial base in Wuhan. The facility will produce environmentally-friendly electric automobiles powered solely by batteries and capacitors, as well as the components and parts that go into electric vehicles. The base is expected to have an annual production capacity of 3,000 electric automobiles and 3,000 core components. Construction will take two years and annual sales are expected to reach RMB10 billion once the base begins operation. According to People’s Daily Online, around 1,100 such vehicles were provided for the Shanghai World Expo this year.
