After recently opening two luxury hotels in Shanghai and Chengdu, Wyndham has announced agreements for three new Wyndham Hotels and Resorts properties in Boao, in south China’s Hainan Island province. This is the island where hoteliers met a storm of criticism by massively hiking their rates during the recent holidays.
The new properties include the 300-room Wyndham Grand Boao Resort and Spa, the 106-room Wyndham Boao Resort; and the 350-room Wyndham Boao Resort and Conference Center. The three hotels are owned by Hainan Baolian City.
Wyndham is the largest US-based hotel company in China with 250 hotels representing over 40,000 rooms.
4Hoteliers reports the 300-room Wyndham Grand Boao Resort and Spa is due to open in 2013. The 350-room Wyndham Boao Resort and Conference Center is, of course, a MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) hotel and will open in 2019.
