President Xi Jinping will meet on Monday with delegation heads from the founding members of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) at a signing ceremony for the new institution’s articles of agreement, South China Morning Post reported. The 57 prospective members of the AIIB concluded discussions and finalized the articles at a three-day policy meeting in Singapore in May, and the bank will begin operations before the end of the year if the majority of members win approval from their own governments for the agreement. Word of the signing comes after Australia announced this week it would join the bank as a founding member.
