Xi Jinping says anti-graft fight in "deadlock"

President Xi Jinping says China’s anti-corruption campaign is facing a deadlock due to resistance from an “army of corruption,” Reuters reported, citing a state newspaper. “The two armies of corruption and anti-corruption are in confrontation, and a ‘deadlock’ has appeared,” a party official said on Friday quoting Xi, according to the newspaper which revealed his comments on Monday. “To fight against corruption, a person’s life and death, personal praise or blame, do not matter,” Xi said in the speech. “Since the future and destiny of the party and the country have been handed to us, we must take on this responsibility.”
