Xi Jinping’s G20 agenda

Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the G20 summit and plans to hold several important meetings at the event, reported  Caixin

Xi is expected to hold trilateral talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin as well as attend an informal meeting with the leaders of  the other BRICS nations.

China is also expected to push for WTO reforms aimed at enhancing the organization’s authority and effectiveness, a Chinese commerce official said.

The Foreign Ministry’s announcement of Xi’s attendance did not mention an official state visit to Japan.

Little has been revealed about the meeting between Xi and President Trump other than that they would exchange views on “fundamental issues.” Recent US moves to blacklist even more Chinese companies has led to heightened tension between the two countries.
