President Xi Jinping promised to crush separatists in China’s Xinjiang province following the deadly bombing of a train station on Wednesday in the provincial capital Urumqi, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing state media. Two people identified by state media as religious extremists are suspected of the bombing, which killed both bombers and a third person, and injured 79 people. The attacked marked a higher level of organization for separatists from the region. In March, a stabbing that Beijing attributed to separatists left 30 people dead in a train station in Kunming, the provincial capital of Yunnan.
