Xi’an Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone (XDZ for short) will be ten years old in May next year although it was only approved as a national development zone by the State Council in March, 1991.
Since 1994, XDZ’s composite index has always ranked at the top among the 53 national hi-tech development zones in China.
In 1997, XDZ took the lead in joining the organization network of the APEC technological park with the approval of the State Council.
In 2001, XDZ was classified as one of the 5 national demonstration high-tech industrial development zones iby the State Ministry of Science and Technology.
In December 2002, XDZ was named as one of the six most vigorous cities and areas of China by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
In December 2003, XDZ was appraised as the Chinese Top 50 Sincere and Safe Area for Investment Environment. Which is excellent for a Hi Tech Zone which is in an area praised as the 9th Scenery in the Guanzhong Area area of Shaanxi Province).
