Yahoo admits helping China to jail journalist

Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang admitted the Internet portal helped Chinese authorities locate a journalist who leaked state secrets, the Financial Times reported. Reporters Without Borders recently criticized Yahoo for its role in the case brought against Chinese journalist Shi Tao, who revealed information about a crackdown employed by party officials in an email, which Yahoo helped the authorities trace. Yahoo said providing such information on internet users was a condition of doing business in China.
