Yahoo China wins unfair competition suit

Yahoo China has won a lawsuit against a local search engine for unfair competition. Alibaba.com, which owns Yahoo China, said on Thursday that Beijing's Second Intermediate Court ruled against the operator of the Qihoo search engine, Reuters reported. Beijing Sanjiwuxian Internet Technology must stop competing unfairly and compensate Yahoo China for damages and legal costs. The company also has to make an announcement clarifying "incorrect allegations," Alibaba said in a statement following the court's decision. Yahoo China had claimed Qihoo's 360safe software prompted users to uninstall the Yahoo Toolbar.
