Yum to push marketing strategy at KFC in China

Yum Brands (YUM.NYSE) said it would implement several new marketing strategies in China at its flagship brand KFC in order to recover sales, The Wall Street Journal reported. Yum’s China chief executive Sam Su said they will mostly concentrate on changes to KFC’s menu. He also pledged a marketing push by KFC through the uses of social media and other digital tools. Yum has long been the leader among Western fast-food brands in China but the company has struggled, with same-store sales in the country falling 16% year to date.
