Yum! Brands – parent company of fast food chains KFC, Pizza Hut and others – said its profits in China topped US$200m in 2004, accounting for 15% of the group's total profits worldwide. KFC, its leading brand, has 1,200 outlets across China, almost double the number of rival McDonalds, and plans to open more than 200 more in 2005, Sam Su, Yum's China president said. He added that he expected China share of Yum's worldwide profits to continue to grow, reaching at least 18% for 2005.
