Leading Chinese telecom equipment maker ZTE is being considered by German electronics giant Siemens to manufacture its mobile phone handsets, the business weekly WirtschaftsWoche reported. ZTE is already reviewing Siemens' financials as part of its due diligence, the magazine reported, citing industry sources. Other candidates for Siemens' money-losing mobile phone business include two other Chinese firms, Ningbo Bird and Huawei, South Korean group LG Electronics and Japan's NEC.
