According to statistics from the Civil Aviation Administration of China aviation boomed in China in the domestic area and slipped slightly on overseas trips.
Passengers made 449 million trips on domestic routes, 22% more than a year ago, while the number of international trips dropped 1.9% year on year to 37.05 million.
China Kowledge reported that the administration said 14 out of the 166 Chinese mainland airports handled more than 10 million passengers each last year, compared with 10 last year.
Meanwhile, 51 airports handled more than 1 million passengers each in 2009, compared with 47 in 2008.
