The SOPA (Society of Publishers in Asia) 2007 Awards for Editorial Excellence were held on Wednesday night in Hong Kong, announcing winners in reporting and design categories from English- and Chinese-language newspapers and magazines (click here for a list of the night’s winners). China Economic Review won an award for "Excellence in Explanatory Reporting" for the article "Mother of invention?", our cover story from November of last year. Here’s what the judges’ panel had to say:
