Air France and China Southern have signed a joint venture agreement, pairing up to provide flights between Paris and Guangzhou.
Pierre-Henri Gourgeon, Air France CEO, said, "It consolidates our position in one of the most buoyant regions of the world and enables us to offer our customers improved service whilst maintaining costs. By joining forces, China Southern – China’s leading airline and Air France – a European major – are entering a new phase of cooperation."
AviationRecord.com reports the two airlines will be operating on a code-share basis, which will provide a wider choice of departure times and higher frequencies.
Later, several other connecting destinations will gradually be introduced within the framework of the joint venture agreement.
