Cargill Health & Food Technologies said it has entered into a joint venture with Wuhan Alking Bioengineering to market arachidonic acid (ARA), a nutritional fatty acid found naturally in breast milk, to the China's infant formula industry. ARA and DHA are said to support development of brain and eye functions, according to the marketing company, and are becoming an important ingredient in infant formula globally. Cargill said the JV could be operating in the next one to four months.
