Brunei, China sign pacts

China and Brunei signed co-operative agreements in technology, public health, energy, tourism, among other areas, as Hu Jintao made his first state visit to the Islamic country since becoming China's president. Hu is on a three-nation Southeast Asian tour with other stops in Indonesia and the Philippines. China's 2003 daily oil import from Brunei was about 20,000 barrels, about a tenth of Brunei oil output.
