Three mainland Chinese firms independently revealed plans to raise a combined total of US$4.62 billion of capital, South China Morning Post reported, citing statements from the companies. BYD (002594.SHE), the world’s biggest supplier of batteries, said it planned to raise RMB15 billion (US$2.418 billion) in an A-share placement on the Shenzhen stock exchange. Meanwhile, Alibaba Pictures (1060.HKG) announced it planned to raise a net HK$12.11 billion (US$1.562 billion) in a placement with six independent and/or institutional investors. Finally, Lenovo Group (0992.HKG), the largest supplier of personal computers in the world, said it would issue five-year notes due in 2020 to raise RMB4 billion (645 million).
