Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin urged Canadian businesses to build up their trade links with China, saying the "new reality" was that China's economy would soon be greater than that of the US. Martin, who is due to travel to Beijing in January on a trade boosting visit, said China's economic growth had fuelled its interest in Canada's wealth of natural resources. But he said boosting trade with the Mainland did not diminish Canada's concern about human rights in China, a topic he planned to bring up on his visit.
